Meet Dan the Ram
So I was wandering around the internet, looking for a ram to fashion for The Wool Lady in Downtown Temecula. Thats where I get to teach an amigurumi class! Anyway, She LOVES sheep, she has sheep all over her website, she has sheep all over her shop, and I’m pretty sure she has sheep all over house, car, and the rest of her life. So I made her a sheep (Ewe can do it too pattern) and had some yarn left over. So I made her sheep a friend. Thus Dan the Ram.
Anyway, I was wandering around the internet looking for a good Ram pattern. No such thing exists. There were a couple, but most didn’t have horns or had horns made of pipe cleaners (what’s that all about?!!?). So I just free-handed him. I made a miniature version of him first and didn’t like it very much. The horns didn’t curl properly, and he was just too small to really put a lot of detail into him with the thick yarn that I was using. I wrote down the pattern for Mini Dan, but I wasn’t very happy with him, though Ruth (the wool lady) thought he was adorable. I undid him though and tried again.
On my second attempt, SUCCESS! Dan the ram is a fat little ram with big horns and a cute face. I totally win the ram-making! The only thing that would have made him better (and I’m only speculating on this) is if I had had two yarn colors and could have made his face, feet and horns brown or black or something like that. Maybe I’ll try that next time I make him.
Anyway, Here are more pictures!
