I had promised my two year old that I would make him something because I had just finished making a dog (Snoopy, so cute) for my nephew. Every time I sat down with yarn and hooks, he’d come over and say “mine?” I started to feel kinda bad because I was making things for other people, and not for him. I made a penguin for my mother-in-law’s friend, a dog for my nephew, a rattle for my new baby niece, and a sheep for my employer, but nothing for Zachary.
I was going to make him a dog. But I couldn’t find a pattern that I really liked, and I didn’t want to make another snoopy (I wish I had written down the pattern for that dog, he’s so perfect!) So I started thinking of what else Zachary would like. Zachary LOVES cats, and our cat, Montrose, is starting to live up to her name! So he doesn’t have a cat that he can play with anymore.
Well, my hook and yarn started working and out popped Candy Cat. Or as Zachary will tell you “my Meow!”
When I started out, The head was all wrong, and then, after the head was right, the body that I made was WAY too big! But finally, a suitable cat came about.
Finishing touch to make this cat perfect for my son was to add a jingle-bell to the head. Zachary loves that it makes noise when he shakes it. All in all, it turned out purrrfectly (wow I’m cheezy!)
- Haha, I get to sit on the Table, and the other kitties can’t!
- Such a cute little face!
- You Gotta Love the Tiger Stripes
- Why is this thing looking at me?
- See, Candy is just a kitten
- CHOO CHOO!
P.S. If you want the pattern, I’ll have it and several others up soon. They will probably run about $5 per pattern (except maybe my tiny whale that I’m gonna post next, he’ll probably be $1) For now, you can e-mail me and I’ll e-mail you the pattern we’ll work something out with a check or paypal or something like that. Lots of fun patterns coming as soon as my amazing husband figures out how to make a store on this theme!
